For the second year in a row the faithful of St. Panteleimon Orthodox Church will open their doors to those homeless and lonely of Summit to provide a warm place and a hot Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day. "This special meal will be provided free of charge. All food and preparation is being provided by Village Trustee and Venetian Garden Restaurant owner, Sam Dardovski," said Fr. Andrew Bartek, Rector. The meal will be served on Sunday, December 25 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help set up, serve and clean-up.
Fr. Andrew said, "It is a great commitment to give a few hours of time doing something like this. However, Christ tells us in the Gospel of St. Matthew 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ What better gift can we give Him on the day of His birth than to feed the least among us."
